Dear Parents and Carers, This week we've been busy with creative activities in every class. Children have been designing moving vehicles, carrying out experiments, practising their illustration skills and creating Mother's Day cards. On the playground, children across all four classes have been working together to build structures using the crates, foam bricks and planks, and Kestrels have been putting on shows for other children to watch. It's been lovely to watch children p

Dear Parents and Carers, We've had a brilliant week celebrating our love of reading! Thank you for your support with our various events on World Book Day this Thursday. We saw some brilliant outfits and our pupils really enjoyed sharing their books with children from different classes, talking about what they love and finding texts related to their hobbies and interests. Lots of staff took children to different areas of the school in the afternoon to share their favourite pic

Dear Parents and Carers, We've come to the end of another busy term and this week has been no exception! A big well done to members of our Kestrels class who participated in the Dodgeball competition on Monday, alongside four other local schools. On Tuesday, Kestrels girls attended a creative movement festival in Kettering and had a fantastic morning taking part in a range of dance activities and performances. Yesterday, Kestrels were visited by Red Bull Racing Stem X team an

I can't believe we're already half way through the academic year! Our children continue to wow us with their hard work, resilience and determination. We've been working on our routines this week and reminding children to walk quietly through school and remain in their line spaces, as well as using kind hands, kind feet and kind words. Staff are promoting positive choices and wanted behaviours by giving out house points to those seen doing the right thing, in the right place,

Happy new year! Welcome back to school, it's been so lovely to see everyone again and hear all about the children's Christmas breaks. We've had a chilly start to the term, thank you for providing warm coats and spare footwear! Please ensure all items in school are named - including uniform, coats, shoes (if spares are brought in) and gloves if possible. If your child outgrows their wellies, we're always grateful for spares to be donated to school. We've had a busy week with s

What a fantastic, busy term we've enjoyed together! This week we've enjoyed so many festivities; The Christmas Pantomime at the theatre, a visit from Santa, class parties, a Christmas singalong at the church, a welly walk around the village and a surprise visit from The Grinch at lunch! It's been a very magical month here at Rushton and I would like to thank everyone for their encouragement, engagement and positivity over the last term. My first Christmas at Rushton has been

As we move into our final week of term I'd like to start by saying a huge thank you to our pupils, staff and parents for your support with our children's learning and all of our events over the last term. Festive season is well and truly upon us! Hedgehogs and Badgers started the week with two exceptional performances of The Big Little Nativity - it was wonderful to see them enjoying taking to the stage and singing away. Well done to everyone for working so hard to learn their lines, stage directions and songs. A huge thank you to our staff for their hard work and efforts in putting the show together, and to our PCA for providing refreshments. Next week we have Squirrels and K

This week we were visited by Coram Scarf Life Tent, who delivered a series of engaging and exciting mental wellbeing workshops to our classes. We learned about nature's calming effects, how to find our inner resilience, how to appreciate ourselves, the tools we can use to recognise our emotions and feel safe, calm and confident, and how to set ourselves goals and overcome obstacles. We also thought about what we are grateful for. On Tuesday we watched our five school bands wh
