As we move into our final week of term I'd like to start by saying a huge thank you to our pupils, staff and parents for your support with our children's learning and all of our events over the last term. I've thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Rushton team as we have headed into our first Christmas together, and feel very grateful to be part of such a supportive and engaged community.

This week we enjoyed our Key Stage Two winter show, The Snow Queen. The children put on a stellar performance and I was blown away by how hard they had worked to learn their lines and stage directions, their singing and acting. Thank you to the staff who have worked tirelessly to ensure the production was a success. We look forward to seeing some of our young stars on stage and screen in the future! Thank you to the PCA for providing refreshments.

On Wednesday Badgers class enjoyed their curriculum day all about dinosaurs. They excavated skeletons, classified dinosaurs, went on a dinosaur hunt around school and wrote descriptions of dinosaurs. A roar-some day all round!

Some children enjoyed an iRock taster session this week, joining existing school bands. We've really enjoyed hearing our school bands rehearse and perform, and if your child is interested in learning how to play an instrument or singing in a band, please contact the school office. We've all been practising our songs for the Christmas singalong at church next week, and we're looking forward to getting together to share in the festivities.

If you are having a clear out over the Christmas break, please don't forget that we have a charity clothing skip near the front office. Our school earns money for every collection, so please to pop your unwanted, preloved items in the blue bin when you are next able to.

Next week we have lots of events happening in school - please see below:

Monday: Business as usual!

Tuesday: Panto - please send your child to school with a drink and a snack to eat during the interval and a packed lunch to eat at the theatre after the performance. Disposable lunches are preferred. School uniform must be worn.

Wednesday : Christmas party day and Santa visits - party mufti may be worn

Thursday: Christmas singalong at the church (pupils only). School uniform to be worn please.

Friday: Welly walk - please wear wellies or trainers you don't mind getting muddy, and bring a pair of clean shoes to change in to.

School closes at 3.15pm on Friday 19th December and re-opens on Tuesday 6th January.

Have a lovely weekend, we're looking forward to sharing next week's excitement with you (and don't forget, our mischievous elves are watching you 👀)
