Inside Rushton - 13.02.26

Dear Parents and Carers,

We've come to the end of another busy term and this week has been no exception! A big well done to members of our Kestrels class who participated in the Dodgeball competition on Monday, alongside four other local schools. On Tuesday, Kestrels girls attended a creative movement festival in Kettering and had a fantastic morning taking part in a range of dance activities and performances.

Yesterday, Kestrels were visited by Red Bull Racing Stem X team and they learned how to build a model F1 car and race them, how to change a racing car tyre and all about the engineering involved in Formula 1. It was such a fantastic, hands-on day and the children (and Mr B!) thoroughly enjoyed it!

Squirrels have made fruit smoothies as part of their nutrition and healthy lifestyles learning, and Badgers have had a revamp in their outdoor area, welcoming a new role play area and quiet tent. Hedgehogs have enjoyed a trip to West Lodge Farm today and bottle fed lambs, been on a barrel ride and watched the piglet racing! They learned about lots of different animals and their habitats, and had a rather muddy nature walk too!

Yesterday, we were visited by leaders from Symphony Trust, who commented on what a lovely school we have and how enthusiastic, polite and engaged the children were in their learning. We are really looking to joining their Trust shortly and we will be able to share an update after the break.

Yesterday, we said farewell to Daniel Hadkiss, our School Business Manager. Daniel has been a real asset to our team, and is nothing but kind, patient and a joy to work with. We wish Daniel all the best in his next steps and will miss him greatly.

Next term, Hedgehogs class will be joined by their new class teacher, Miss Fogell. Miss Fogell and Miss Wilcox will work together over the first week to ensure a smooth transition for our reception children. Miss Fogell is an experienced Early Years Lead and has a wealth of knowledge and experience in supporting children learning across nursery, reception and Key Stage One. We are very excited to welcome her to our team and look forward to working with her.

Lots of children have taken home a letter to audition for Rushton's Got Talent - please ensure signed consent forms are returned after half-term ready for auditions on Friday 27th. So far we've got several interested acts in a range of areas, including singing, comedy, music recitals and dance. We can't wait to see the children perform their passions!
