Inside Rushton - 29.09.25

This week we've been busy practising our harvest festival songs, writing stories and developing our stamina in PE. Hedgehogs have been learning how to use percussion instruments and follow a beat too, and they did a great job of listening to each other and working together!

We've got some exciting events coming up over the next few weeks, including our Harvest Festival at the church next Friday, we will be grateful for any volunteers to walk with us. All children will need to have local trip permissions enabled on MCAS, please check your child's permissions and ensure they are up to date. A new permission has been added this week.

We also have a Big Brunch to fundraise for MIND on October 16th, where we are inviting our local community to come into school and connect with others as we think about how we can look after our mental health and the importance of taking time to protect our mental and physical wellbeing. Badgers class will be enjoying a curriculum day, focussing on the monarchy and the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II as part of their history topic, 'Childhood' on October 17th. Please see the separate letters for further details about both events.

Over the next few weeks you will see all upcoming trips that each child will attend for the whole academic year on MCAS. This is to help families budget and there will be letters sent home per trip in the appropriate term with a payment due date - they do not all need to be paid for in October, but you are welcome to pay in part of full for any future trips or experience days early if you wish to. We are aware that there have been some issues with MCAS app over the past two weeks - this is being reported to us as resolved, if you are still experiencing difficulties please close the app and end running, then restart it. If you still have problems please let us know via the office inbox.

Tomorrow (Saturday 27th September) we are holding an open afternoon for prospective Early Years 2026 parents from 1-3pm. Please share this with any friends or family that have a child who is due to start school next September. We are very proud of our school and would love to showcase all that we do!
