Inside Rushton - 11.09.26
Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been lovely to have all of our classes in school this week after our new Reception children joined us on Monday. They’ve all settled in really well and we look forward to seeing them progress over the coming weeks.
We’ve welcomed Miss Chambers (Class Teacher, Badgers) and Miss Padgett (Teaching Assistant, Hedgehogs) to their new roles this week and welcomed back Mrs Meegan who is role-sharing with Miss Chambers. We’ve also appointed Emily Gosling to the role of Office Manager and look forward to her joining us towards the end of this month when we’ll fully introduce you.
We’ve had a busy start to the new year with three of our year groups already having been on trips. Year 6 returned home this afternoon having had a fantastic time on residential at Condover Hall, participating in lots of activities which will have tested them individually and as a group. Years 3 and 4 visited the Sanatan Hindu Dharm temple in Wellingborough this morning, learning more about the Hindu faith as part of this term’s RE topic.
Next Friday (18th), we are having a Times Table Rock Stars Day. All children are invited to come to school dressed as a rock star! We’ll have lots of activities to support times tables and number sense throughout the day.
Our after-school clubs (3.15pm-4.15pm) start again next week – Mondays: Multiskills (Y1-6); Tuesdays: Gardening (Y1-6); Thursdays: Gymnastics (Y3-6). Multiskills and Gardening are fully booked, but there a few places left for Gymnastics. Please book via ParentPay or contact the office if you need any assistance. If your child starts a club and then decides they no longer wish to attend, please let the office know so the place can be offered to other children.
Reminders about registering for Reach More Parents and ParentPay were sent out this week, so please do so as soon as possible as these are our primary sources for keeping in touch with you and enabling you to book places and make payments for clubs and trips. If you didn’t receive the reminder, please contact the office and we’ll be pleased to assist.
We advised earlier this week about confirmed cases of headlice in school and gave widely available guidance about we can all work together to treat existing (and prevent further) incidents. We understand how frustrating this is – both the inconvenience for parents and the discomfort for the children, particularly if treatment is required. Treatment is only necessary if there is evidence of lice or eggs, so please keep checking your children’s hair and only treat if needed. Please inform school if you notice lice so we can notify the relevant class and keep the spread to a minimum.
There are three attachments to this week's newsletter - a guide to the wraparound care offered by Rhino Sports, fire safety advice from Pol-Ed, and details of a Teddy Bear Challenge at the village church on Saturday 26th September.
The new school year is always a time of opportunity and anticipation, and we look forward to working with you and your children over the coming weeks.
Best wishes,
Miss Hannant
