Inside Rushton - 25.09.26

Dear Families,

Thank you for your contributions and donations to the Macmillan cake sale today which raised a fantastic £106.70 – I hope you enjoyed your sweet treats after school!

Earlier this week, Year 5 and 6 girls took part in a rugby event with other local schools, and the staff attending were really impressed with their enthusiasm, effort and manners. Well done to all of the girls that took part and represented our school brilliantly!

Today in assembly, we celebrated our first Times Table Rockstar champion, who has taken home a certificate for earning the most points in their class challenge. Next week we will hold an inter-house competition, so please encourage your child to take part and practise every day. Beecroft have filled their house point jar, and we will notify you next week of their chosen reward – well done Beecroft for living our values every day!

Tomorrow we are holding an open day for our Reception 2027 intake from 11am-1pm. Please come and visit us if you have a child due to start school next year, or share with family and friends. Thank you.

On Saturday 10th October we are holding a Scarecrow Festival to celebrate 135 years of Rushton Primary School. Each class will enter a scarecrow, and we’d love the wider community to take part. Any families, streets, groups and club, streets or businesses are welcome to enter a scarecrow, and we’ll have a range of competitions, too. The event is open to the public, so please do share the word. If you’d like a flyer to share with others, please contact the school office. If you were once a pupil of Rushton, we’d love to display some older photos and memories of the school, please send a copy to the school office.

Enjoy your weekend,

Miss Hannant
