Dear Families,

Our classes have settled into school well and the children are working hard. Today we’ve enjoyed a fun day of upskilling our times tables and the children have all been enthusiastic learners. At lunch time we enjoyed a playground disco and some children put on mini air- performances for their friends! As of next week, we will begin to award a times table champion in assembly each week. This may be most improved, time spent practising, for their resilience when learning a table they find tricky, class, house or year group competitions. It will vary each week to ensure all children have a chance to earn the Times Table Rock Star champion. Please ensure your child has access to TTRS each week to help develop their maths fluency.

We have also welcomed back our enrichment clubs this week, and it’s been fabulous to see so many children enjoy multisports, gardening, gymnastics, football, iRock and hotshots! If you wish to add your child to a club or waiting list, please contact the school office.

On Saturday 10th October we are holding a Scarecrow Festival to begin our 135 Years of Rushton Primary School celebrations. If your family, street, club or workplace wish to enter a scarecrow, please complete this form. We’d love to have a range of scarecrows from our wider community, and it isn’t only open to families. Please share far and wide so we can enjoy a fabulous day together. If you’d like a flyer to share with another organisation, please contact the school office.

Next week we are holding our information evenings for Year 6 SATS on Tuesday in Kestrels, Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check on Wednesday in Squirrels, and Year 1 Phonics Screening Check on Thursday in Kestrels. These will all begin at 3.30pm.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Hannant
