Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you to everyone for your support and understanding as we have navigated the hot weather this week. The children in school have enjoyed ice poles to keep cool (thank you for the donations from the PCA and individual parents) and being hosed down before break and lunch! They have also been using clay to create their own sculptures and practising perspective drawing skills. Our classes have begun to practise their country dancing in PE, along with some relaxing yoga to cool down and unwind!
We have another busy week ahead.
On Monday, Kestrels and Squirrels will be having some football coaching. On Thursday, we have a visit from the Fire Service who will be delivering age-appropriate safety lessons to all the classes. Also on Thursday, some of our Y5/6 children will be taking part in the Quadkids Summer Finals at Moulton College - if your child is involved in this event, please remember that they will be leaving school at 8.15am and are due back at 3.45pm (depending on traffic).
Then on Friday, Squirrels are going to Wollaton Hall, Nottingham, as part of their History topic – please ensure they are prepared for the forecast sunshine with water bottles, sun hats and sun cream. They will be leaving school at 8.45am and are due back in time for normal pick-up. And also on Friday morning, Badgers are visiting the village pocket park.
So, lots to look forward to!
Have a restful weekend, and enjoy the slightly cooler temperatures and rain forecast over the next couple of days!
Miss Hannant
