Dear Parents and Carers,
We've enjoyed a busy week in school and the children are settling in well to their new classes and routines. Kestrels class have loved developing their descriptive writing this week using AI - the children were given picture that they had to describe, then Miss Appleyard generated an AI image for each child using their paragraphs. The class then listened to a sample of children's writing and had to match it to the correct picture. They could also compare how similar their generated image was to the original - it's inspired some fantastic writing and engagement in writing! Have a look below at some examples of the images generated.
We have a large amount of lost property that has been left in the hall - please take the time to check the table outside the hall after school to ensure you retrieve any lost jumpers or cardigans and make sure uniform is clearly labelled for easy return!
This week Rushton has experienced increased traffic around school times due to accidents on surrounding major roads. It can become quite congested outside school so please ensure you walk to school if you are able, or park at the cricket club if there is space. Once traffic begins to move please take your time and drive slowly through the village. As ever, please ensure you are not blocking access to or turning in private property, your support with this is greatly appreciated.
May I prompt gentle reminder for all families to pay for the Peter Pan pantomime at the Derngate Theatre by October 10th. We would love to be able to take the whole school for the experience but can only do so with your contributions. Thank you to those who already have paid for their child's ticket.
Next Saturday (27th September) we will hold an open afternoon for our prospective Early Years intake in September 2026, from 1-3pm. Please do share with any family or friends that have children who will be starting school next year.
