Dear Parents and Carers,

What an amazing week we've had!

Thank you to everyone that supported our PCA Summer Fayre, through attending, donations, helping with setting up, running stalls and tidying away. We had a superb afternoon with you all and we look forward to drawing the raffle in assembly next week. Our children started the celebrations with some wonderful dancing, and as I shared, this was no mean feat with the heat severely limiting our opportunities for PE over the last few weeks. Well done to all of our children, and a special mention to those that stepped in for absences and- of course- our incredible Year 6 for their maypole dancing.

Yesterday, Year 6 were treated to a day at Twin Lakes - they thoroughly enjoyed their day out with friends, celebrating all their hard work over not only the last year, but their whole school life at Rushton. In the evening, they were also given their SATS results and should feel very proud of themselves for their achievements, both in and out of the classroom. They have been a delight to teach all through their schooling.

Hedgehogs also enjoyed their first school trip on Monday, to Gulliver's Land Dinosaur and Farm Park! They had a very exciting day, meeting the animals, making wraps and taking part in a slime-making workshop!

Earlier in the week our incoming Hedgehogs joined us for two Stay & Play sessions, and we're looking forward to welcoming them in the new school year.

Next week is our final week of the term, and will be jam-packed! Please ensure any outstanding school books are returned to school on Monday. And a reminder that our after-school Multiskills, Gardening and Gymnastics clubs have now finished for the year.

On Tuesday, there is an iRock concert for the school and parents of band members - parents should have received an email with details from the school office. Kestrels will also have their class reward of a Mufti day.

On Wednesday we are expecting a skip outside school - please be mindful that this may impact some parking around the school for the final three days of term; we apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

On Thursday morning it is our last Champion of the Term assembly, nominated children will have received an email today. In the afternoon it is our Year 6 Leavers assembly. Again, information has been shared with Year 6 parents.

On Friday it is Break the Rules Day - please see the separate email sent earlier in the week for details. We will also have an ice cream van visit in the afternoon and a whole-school activity afternoon outside - please ensure hats and sun cream are in school. At the end of the day, we will have a 'leavers archway' on the field, please do come in and give our Year 6 children a huge Rushton send-off!

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Hannant
