Dear Parents and Carers,
Our Year 6 pupils have been absolute superstars this week while completing their SATS. They have showed tenacity, resilience and perseverance and worked hard throughout the year to achieve their potential. We’re very proud of them, and today Kestrels class were treated to a visit to the park, followed by a hot chocolate and film! Well done to the rest of the school for supporting their peers through sharing adults, classrooms and managing different break times while testing took place! We are so pleased with how kind and courteous the children have been. Thank you to Mrs Dimmock and Miss Appleyard for preparing the children a cooked breakfast every day this week.
On Tuesday, some children in Badgers class took part in a tennis and racket sport skills event at Havelock, working alongside other primary schools in the local area. They represented our school brilliantly.
This week we received our free books from Scholastic - the result of your generosity at recent book sales. We're also expecting our free books from Usborne to arrive soon following our hugely successful sponsored read.
Looking ahead to next week...
On Monday, selected children from Key Stage 2 will be competing at the swimming gala against other local schools. Good luck to all who are taking part!
On Wednesday, Year 6 will be participating in a multi-sports event at Rothwell against our local school network, and on Thursday morning we have an ambulance visiting our school to see inside and meet a paramedic – a perfect way to learn about health, safety and emergency services!
On Friday, Kestrels class will be taking part in an African Drumming and Dance workshop – please can all children wear their PE kit. What a busy week!
Have a fantastic weekend,
Miss Hannant
