Inside Rushton - 14.11.25

Thank you to everyone that joined us for Parent's Evening this week, we hope that you have found it supportive, helpful and insightful- our staff really value the contributions and experiences of parents, and working with you for the best outcomes for your children. Miss Fraser is looking forward to meeting families on Monday 17th, at the previously booked time.

We raised over £100 for Children in Need today - thank you to everyone that donated and joined in with wearing something yellow or spotty (and for the Pudsey ears!) We also celebrated 'odd socks day' for anti-bullying week today. Our classes have all learnt about the Anti Bullying Alliance theme - Power for Good - this week, which celebrates our differences and individual strengths. Miss Carter led an assembly on Thursday to strengthen the profile of bullying, and how we all play a part in ensuring bullying is not welcome in our school, and how to swiftly address any concerns.

We have also been sent a postcard of thanks by Kettering Foodbank for our Harvest donations. Thank you to all those that took part.

On Tuesday our children took part in a Remembrance assembly, and we reflected on those have have lost their lives or been impacted by war. Some pupils that took part in Remembrance Sunday through groups such as Brownies or Cubs shared their experience and understanding. We watched the CBeebies Remembrance video  and held a 2 minute silence.

Our Christmas performance rehearsals continue to go from strength to strength- our performance times for both shows will be 9.15 on Tuesday and 2.15 on Wednesday. Tickets are allocated 2 per family, and once all families have been able to secure tickets, any spare tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

We have had a number of children suffering with a winter bug this week - may I remind families that if your child has sickness or diarrhoea they should remain at home for 48 hours after the last episode. If your child has a slight temperature or generally feeling under the weather, we are able to administer Calpol in school with your consent, and would encourage you to send them in- if they deteriorate in the school day or we feel they are not well enough to be in school we will call home. We are encouraging regular handwashing and the use of disposable tissues - please reinforce this at home to reduce the risk of spread.

Please also check your child's hair for headlice regularly - if you notice lice please treat immediately and follow up a few days later, until your child has been lice-free for 10 days. Please notify school if you notice headlice so that we can ensure all families are informed and reduce the spread, making treatment easier and faster. Thank you.
