Dear Parents and Carers,

This week Hedgehogs have been learning about their self-care and how to clean their teeth independently in PSHE. Badgers have been using similes in their writing, inspired by their text 'Kassim and the Dragon'. They've really enjoyed being creative and thinking of exciting comparisons. Squirrels have completed a fantastic hot write in English, they've been writing their very own defeat the monster stories. Kestrels have really impressed us this week with their resilience and determination with their SATS revision - the whole class have enjoyed The Unfair Game and The Traitors game as part of their revision! Year 6 are invited to enjoy a cooked breakfast together in the morning next week. Siblings can also come in early for toast and cereal if they wish. We've also seen some super artwork across Key Stage two, following a botanical theme in Squirrels and installation art theme in Kestrels. We have a very creative school!

We are developing Hedgehogs outdoor area and would be grateful for any donations of sand box toys, colourful plastic bottles, scoops, sieves, nets and similar. If you are having a clear out and able to donate any equipment, please drop it off at Hedgehogs class. Thank you.

Our children are enjoying playing on the field now the sunny weather has arrived. If you have a spare soft mat (such as a yoga or camping mat) that you are willing to donate, please drop them off at the school gate. We are always grateful for any donations of balls for the playground, particularly soft balls. Please drop any you may have at the gate before or after school. Thank you.

Please can we ask that all pupils come to school with a sun hat, sun cream and water bottle every day. Sunglasses are allowed if you child would like to wear them. A light rain jacket is also advised for the unpredictable weather!

Finally, all three houses have filled their reward jars and have earned their rewards! Today we offered a 'free snack Friday’ – children brought any snack they wish (of a reasonable portion size). A few children had forgotten their free snack, so any that have did not join in today can bring one on Monday. If they took part today then they should have their usual fruit and veg snack only on Monday. Free snacks can include fruit and veg, crackers, cheese, a small packet of sweets, crisps or biscuits, cereal bars, breadsticks, yogurt tubes or similar...but please ensure they are nut-free.

Have a restful weekend,

Miss Hannant
