Inside Rushton - 05.06.26

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to our final term of 2025-2026! The children have had an exceptional start to the term and have been working hard all week. Today, Red House filled their reward jar and will be given their reward next week - I will email to confirm their prize at the start of the week after meeting the school council reps.

Year 4 have completed their Multiplication Tables Check and whizzed through their 25 questions! Thank you for your support in practising at home, it makes a real difference to their fast recall. Next week Year 1 and some children in Year 2 will complete their Phonics Screening Check – please do keep practising flashcard sounds and words over the weekend to help keep their sounds fresh! Split digraphs (a-e, e-e, i-e, o-e, u-e, and the ‘au’ as in Paul, ire, tion, tious/cious, sound are the trickiest ones!)

On Tuesday our Key Stage 2 children took part in a triathlon event in Corby, taking part with many other schools across the area. They swam, cycled or scooted and ran at Corby Pool, and had a fantastic time! Well done to everyone who took part, it was a brilliant event that the children (and staff!) really enjoyed being a part of!

On Monday, selected children from Kestrels will take part in a football tournament at Montsaye, those involved have been contacted by the office.

Please can I remind you to check your children’s devices for social media accounts – most have a minimum required age of 13, with some being 16. If your child does have access to social media, please ensure the profile has high privacy settings and no identifying names or features. We regularly discuss online safety in school, and appreciate your support with this at home too.

Kestrels - phones should not be brought in to school by anyone that is collected by a parent or met on the street outside school. Children should return to school if they have a concern or cannot find their parent and we will contact you. If your child does need to bring a phone, for example children that walk home, it should be handed in (turned off) at the school gate.

This weekend Rushton Village Fair takes place on Sunday afternoon – please pop along and support the village in their fundraising and celebrations.
